Wishing Well

Between Christmas and New Year 2008, Old Covent Garden Market became the home of a mysterious mirrored, toblerone-shaped pavilion: SpinVox’s interactive Wishing Well.

Powered by SpinVox’s voice to text technology, passers-by were encouraged to call a number, make a wish and see it appear magically inside the well within minutes, projected onto the walls. Wishes expanded, accumulated, disappeared, new wishes sprung to the front… all within a kaleidoscope of colours.

London agency Freestate asked me to create the graphics for this project, including the design template and colour scheme for the animations inside the Wishing Well, the look of the facade and general signage. The graphic concept for the projections was conceived in a very enjoyable collaboration with Jeremy Hutchison and Francois Naude.
